This course is designed to provide guidance to personnel on the potential hazards associated with Lead and Cadmium, and to identify occupational settings where this material can be encountered. Topics covered include:

• The specific nature of the operations where lead / cadmium is possible.
• The purpose, proper selection, fit testing, use, and limitations of respirators.
• The adverse health effects of lead / cadmium.
• The purpose and description of the medical surveillance program.
• The engineering controls and work practices to be applied and used in the employee's job.
