Crane - Overhead/Gantry Operator Qualification

This course is designed to teach students the proper operation of overhead cranes. It applies to overhead and gantry cranes, including semigantry, cantilever gantry, wall cranes, storage bridge cranes, and others having the same fundamental characteristics. These cranes are grouped because they all have trolleys and similar travel characteristics.

Objectives of the course include:

• Provide an introduction to crane and sling safety
• Meet OSHA training requirements
• Establish the importance of crane and sling safety
• Introduce basic safety concepts and techniques
• Provide skills for operators, maintenance workers, supervisors, etc.
• Raise safety to an appropriate level of awareness
