Drug/Alcohol Reasonable Suspicion

49 CFR 199.241

As promulgated by OSHA CFR 100.241 each employee who has a responsibility to be able to determine whether an employee must be drug/alcohol tested based on probably cause or reasonable suspicion must complete training to include at least 60 minutes on the specific, contemporaneous, physical, behavioral, and performance indicators of probable drug/alcohol use. Records of this training must be kept at least 3 years. Training should include:

• Effects of drug/alcohol
• Signs and symptoms of use
• Problems involving use
• Workplace issues
• Interviewing personnel

Length: 1-2 hrs.
