Access to Medical Records

This course is designed to provide employees and supervisors, information on an employee’s right of access to relevant exposure and medical records. The standard applies to general industry, maritime, and construction employers who makes, maintains, contracts for, or has access to employee exposure or medical records pertaining to exposure to toxic substances or harmful physical agents. The course covers:

• Designated Employee Representatives
• What is an exposure
• What is access
• What records can an employee access
• What records can a designated employee representative access
• What do employers need to know about the standard
• What records to employers have to make available
• What to do if you do not have employee exposure records
• How long are exposure records maintained
